Nina Mitterdorfer and Fabian Liebel took a close look at one of the most controversial topics of the year.
Last week, DSC asociate Marielena Plieseiss was awarded the VKB Science Prize for her dissertation "Die gesetzlichen Verzugszinsen gemäß § 1333 Abs 1 ABGB - Zur Ausgestaltung, Wirkung und Rechtsnatur der gesetzlichen Zinspauschalierung bei Schuldnerverzug mit einer Geldforderung", which has already won six awards.
The VKB Science Award of the VKB Cooperative Foundation Dr. Pfeifauf recognizes academic talent and promotes understanding in the banking and finance sector.
Marielena's outstanding research work is also reflected in the fact that her work was positively reviewed as an "important new publication on tort law" by Hon. Prof. Dr. Danzl (retired President of the Senate of the Austrian Supreme Court, editor of the ZVR) in the ZVR 2023/178. He emphasizes Marielena's "admirable thoroughness and sharpness" with which she has penetrated the topic of default interest rates.
Our warmest congratulations!
